She also teaches at Sciences-Po. She writes: “I went to the French Lycée in New York after having lived for a very long time in London (I was also at the Lycée there). I spent a year in NY, in Première from 1982 to 1983, and then went back to Paris where I took the bac, registered at the Sorbonne, decided I wanted to become a university teacher passed the Agrégation and then did my thèse. (It was more difficult than it sounds!) My field is XXth century poetry (my PhD was on Nobel Prize winner Seamus Heaney) more specifically I'm interested in language. I became a fully-fledged lecturer three / four years ago, got a position at the University of Angers - even though I live in Paris; I went back to the States, to Rhode Island for a semester two years ago and I taught English. I also work at Sciences-Po, in Paris, and have done several other things - translations mostly - for advertising companies or in the medical field. So I try to keep busy and travel often to in London! On and off I've seen a few classmates in Paris; I am regularly in touch with Claude Schenck who wasn't in my class but whom I've known for a long time now and I went on seeing Karine Causse whose mother taught at the Lycée for a long time. I still keep in touch with the family fairly regularly. The first few years in Paris a number of friends from the Lycée came to visit - Nadine Pantano, Claudia Strage and Cornelia Messing. Then everyone went their own way. To finish, I'd say that I really spent a wonderful, exceptional, year in NY; I only spent a year there but it taught me a lot of things!” ● Gabriele Piperno writes: “Moved back to the U.S. after 16 years. Integrating with my wife and three kids in the Cowboy State [Texas]…Very different from NYC!” ● Christophe Dupont wrote: "As of last September, I've been appointed Director, Renault Design Barcelona, and as my new title suggests, have relocated to Barcelona with wife and three children...anyone living in Barcelona is welcome to contact me."
